Christopher Peter Meloni (born Christopher Peter Meloni) is an American actor, most famous as a character on the well-known TV series 'Law & Order Special Victims Unit. The first time he became interested in acting was in his early college days. He studied acting at University of Colorado at Boulder. Though he has been active on both television and films however it is his roles in the smaller screen which earned him a cult admirers. He has the ability to portray both characters from the side of police officers and other. This is what makes him so popular. His first project was a TV serial but he later played a detective for the NYPD. The small screen performances of his have been recognized with multiple Emmy Awards nominations and PRISM Awards. The actor is famous by his blue piercing eyes, which have become the trademark of his character and has helped him portray tough characters with charisma. He was named as one of People's Magazine's Sexiest Men Alive in 2006.
